My portrait of Picasso from a picture by Arnold Newman.

This is my last chiaroscuro assignment finally completed, after almost one month.

18x24 inches
charcoal

The original b&w picture was taken by the American photographer Arnold Newman.
His B&W portraits are currentlypresented at the Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Francisco.
An awesome  exhibition, a MUST SEE.

Differently for the photographer before him  Newman focuses on the sitter's habitat. Revealing personality and character not through physiognomy (the principle of classic portraiture ) but through the things artist gathered around them.

Here is Picasso picture before the chosen crop:

Newman crops it :)

Me and the original photo! Selfie :)

Me and my drawing! selfie work in progress:)
