Another day....another portrait !

I am extremely happy with today's portrait, it didnt take me too long and it came just as it was supposed to be. I believe sometimes we have  just a GOOD day, and today was one !

 Off to the garden for few hours of painting now ... not to bad :)

Special blog today ! all dedicated to my number one reader that right now is unfortunately unwell and at the hospital.
When things like this one happens..I hate living so far away !! I would like to jump on the next flight to Italy, but is not always that easy.

Abstract figure drawing from a model

Good evening everyone!
Yesterday I attended my second class of abstract figure painting, it was really exciting!
We had a model posing for us naked for the full time, first the teachee gave us a demonstration, then i it was our turn.
Some sketch with charcoal first than colors :)

I did 2 paintings, my favourite is this one, it was done during one 20 minute sitting.I love the vibrance of the color and the contrast.

This one was done in two 20 min sitting, as you can see there are more details!

It was my very first time painting from a real model, I usually draw...but painting so much fun!!!


I will definitely do more!!

My not so favourite brushes

 Hello everyone! Hope you had a good Wednesday, my was SUPER :)
After almost 2 weeks break I went back to running, I was missing it so much!!!
And it was a perfect start of day of course :)
I had lunch with a friend who shares my same painting-art passion . While talking about still life we agreed that rendering materials, like metal or glass is very difficoult.
Once home I decided to paint something with metal in it OF COURSE!
Here it is : an old Ikea vas older some of my not so favourite brushes in it, in the next picture you can see miss Mona, she just need to be in the picture!!

Head drawing

As every Tuesday I went to portrait class, and this is one is today's model.
You know him already!! I have drawn him a bunch of times already, I remember the first time he was in front of him...when I didnt have a clue how to draw a beard :)

After a cloudy foggy grey morning now the sun is out and is gorgeous outside...off to the garden to do my favourite thing : paint!

Four cherries

is my SMALLEST PAINTING , till now!!! 4x4 inches

Today in the afternoon we cycled  to Stanford shopping center, the three of us of course!! Mona jumped in my basket the moment she was tired of  running :)

Once there I spotted these beautiful cherries at the farmer market and despite the price, I decided to buy them! ( 6 $ per 1 ounce!!!!)
They taste ok and they were perfect for my still life, so it was a worthy purchase :)

 Hello everyone!! here is the portrait I have been working on these last few days, 11x14 inc oil on canvas.
This is the second time i was painting a dog... i loved it!!!!   I love painting dogs as much as I love my own dog! :)
The picture I used was quite dark and it was a bit of struggle ! But in the end I am pretty happy with the result!
Hopefully Antonio e Sabrina like it too! :)
