Ciao bella!

Good morning :)

I am almost done with this illustration, I just wanted to post the final face of the main character ... which I actually did last Saturday.

This was my first attempt at working, drawing and painting in Abobe Photoshop.
I was feeling kind of incomplete without this digital art skill! Time to catch up  :)

It works differently from the software I was previously learning (Adobe Illustrator).
Starting from zero, again!
Plenty of frustration at times...but I am getting some place new now...somewhere I really like actually :)

This were the previous stages:

Happy Friday everyone!

You know I am no good....adding text collage!

My morning run is my art-planning-ideas-time...is sacred to me :)
So this morning while I was running in the Golden gate Park I was thinking about the Amy Winehouse work I posted yesterday and I came up with something to improve it.
Some collaged text in the background!
Hope you like it!

Happy Monday!

You know I am no good.

Fat birds don't fly.

Ingredient:

-a picture of your cool hubby
-watercolor
-some old wrapping paper

Mix all together, a touch of Photoshop and voila' !!
Once the work was done I asked Michal for a sentence which would represent him, here is a quote from a Fun Loving Criminal Song.

Hubby is still in Asia, cant wait for him to be back in few days!
It always make me feel closer to him working on something related to him when he is away.

You Know I am no good. Amy Winehouse

What a busy Sunday!!!
Good for me the weather has been crappy since Friday! That means no long-walks-along-the-beach temptations for me, of course Mona is always more than happy to go for long expeditions but today she had to be patient.

I started the day working on my new digital drawing..not finishes yet! But is coming along nicely.
Then I moved on to something different...
Do you remember all my Amy Winehouse work? Well, I took it out again and tried to do something different with it.
This time the help of Photoshop, which I have been studying non-stop for almost (!) a week.
Amazing software I have to say...there is so much you can do with it!! I am still at the beginning and I have been going through phases of excitement (like today!) or learning depressive frustration (yesterday).

Here is my new Amy mixed media artwork:

The new home assignment for tomorrow head drawing class was a portrait with expression . I drew Andrew again because I really like the face he was doing at the time of the shot.
Taking it school tomorrow to be checked! Fingers crossed!

Product packaging illustration: Mr. Tomato.

The third assignment for my Concept and technique Illustration class was to develop a product packaging illustration.

Here is my final work, Mr. Tomato... (a tomato sauce clearly!:)

A mix of traditional, vector and Photoshop technique.....pretty happy with what I have learned this week actually!! Despite the beautiful weather I kept on studying :)

First step: traditional drawing with pen and watercolor.
After different sketches I came up with something I liked ( and my teacher too!)

Second step: learning and improving my PS technique.

I included an Hawaiian sky in my Tuscan spaghetti hills.

I took this photo our last evening in Maui, few weeks ago. Beautiful colors.

Third step : learn and master the mesh tool in Adobe Illustrator to create a nice 3D tomato.
Fourth step:

Putting it all together! This is also another version I really like, no effect applied and different shade of sky....

Here I applied some effects to the background around:

Happy Sunday evening everyone.... maybe some pasta with tomato sauce for our dinner!or maybe some sushi....: )

Happy Easter! Belly painting experimenting :)

Well...this was me today during my afternoon break!
I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter decorating my own big egg :)
It was more complicated than expected, for the uncomfortable position, for the mirror and for the heavy belly itself! But It was fun!
I am sure I would a much better job on someone else belly! (Already looking forward to my girlfriends over here to be expecting again! just to practice more!)

Some picture of the work in progress:

Start!

Hubby adding the writing! :)

Happy Easter! :)

Underworld.....finished sketch!

colored pencil, watercolor, ink pen, charcoal.
Underworld
from my Sketchbook

I took a break to think how to work the background in this illustration and yesterday I came up with this charcoal black mix of waves
Also, I am in the process of improving my very poor Photoshop skills ( it was about time!!) that means I will be probably add some digital touch this drawing!
Have a good evening everyone!

Eyes wide open. From my sketchbook.

Detail.
Eyes wide open.
Watercolor, ink pen, colored pencil, gouache.

Eyes wide open.
Watercolor, ink pen, colored pencil, gouache.

My last drawing is an evolution of this one previous drawing:

I liked the idea of the mermaid drinking wine but I also like to have shark in it, doing eye contact with one fish.
It took me sometimes to color, first watercolor then colored pencil then ink pen and gouache.
Still maybe the final version should have both the wine glass and the shark in it!!
We will see :)

Weather update from Ocean beach, it has been beautiful everyday all week just VERY VERY windy, like a 40 km per hour blowing wind yesterday and the the day before, just to say!
Today was better! Me, my 26 week old bump and the puppy also managed to squeeze in a 7 miles run at a decent pace, pretty proud!! :)

Off to some healthy (!) painting now!
Have a nice evening everyone!
