Together Forever.

Together Forever.
Vector  Digital Art.

This last work is a mix of abstract and cubism.... (I am really enjoying experimenting these days !)

It is a celebration of love and is dedicated mainly to my parents, that are celebrating today 39 years of marriage (AUGURI!!!) but also to everyone who is in love and believes in love.
Love is more than a feeling, is a decision. My mom once told me that the secrete to their last love was their ability to sustain their "positive illusions".
And I agree with that, men and women who continue to see that their partner is attractive, funny, kind and ideal for them in just every way remain content with each other.

Happy Sunday people !  :)

Clothed figure drawing, studies.

Here are few studies of 20 min each from last week Clothed Figure Drawing class .

The model was listening to her Ipod ;)

I truly enjoy this class and drawing from life . Is a nice break from my current digital art addiction  ;)

Still life, chiaroscuro class.

18x24 inches
Charcoal pencil.

This still life is a live proof of my patience.

Almost 10 hours of drawing, adding color, removing color, adding a bit here and there and remove somewhere else.
I am so glad is done.  But....I need to do another one now.  :(  (!!!!)
A three week home assignment for my chiaroscuro class.
Having a break first and planning to draw some fun stuff tomorrow. The still life can wait :)

Happy Friday everyone! :)

Something to celebrate my just born niece (she is beautiful!!) and my gorgeous  nephew.
Love them!
Cant wait to see them in a few of months.

Waiting for Vittoria.

Waiting for Vittoria.

 Digital Art.

No more waiting actually! Victoria is already here, 10 days before her due date :)
WELCOME !!!
Can't wait to meet you...hopefully sometimes soon...
I hate this huge distance San Francisco - Faenza especially at times like this one.
Gli Zii d' America are sending LOTS of love to the parents and the older brother . I am sure he will take care of her so well :)
Miss you guys.xxxx

Aquarius.

Aquarius.
Digital Art.

Love love love this last painting! I am super happy with the water- hair effect I managed to get... a lot of layers ( almost 50 !) did the work pretty well.
I am Aquarius myself and I have been wanting to paint my zodiac sign for years...always postponing for a reason or the other but I finally made time for it. :) Glad I did!! :)

Have a great evening everyone!

Spring Dreaming.

Spring dreaming.

Digital Art.

Spring dreaming...this title could apply to me too right now :) Outside is gloomy, grey and foggy a typical November day here in Ocean Beach.
Lets say that the weather over don't make us bored :) one day is summer and the day after is winter. You never know what to expect!

Anyway, weather aside and back to the art.

I am very happy to post this last drawing it took me few days  to complete but it was a good learning experience with my beloved software Illustrator.

Have a good evening everyone!

Miss Brownie.

Miss Brownie.

Digital Art.

One of the things I LOVE about digital art is that you can change your plans while the work in progress. A bit more difficult with brushes and canvas :(

Apparently the face of this girl was too complex for the larger illustration I was working on. The details were lost in the big picture. So I started a new face for the other image and I have called this done with a brown and blue background.

A funny weather today, rainy, cloudy and sunny...all at the same time.
Taking the doggie out, she has was been way too patient with me today!
Have a good evening everyone!

Work in progress day two :)

Day two.

I opened a book from Tamara Lempicka, a painter I really like it and inspired by her painting  style I am keeping working on this girl. Crispy lines, strong contrast, bright colors.
I spent many hours on the face and then I started working on the body and the dress.
Taking the doggie for a walk and then off to drawing class. No more home work for today!
Another beautiful day  in Ocean beach, we are enjoying our summer, it was about time.
See you tomorrow :)

Work in progress, experimenting with shapes and color.

I don't usually post work in progress pictures of my digital work but this lady face is coming along well, so I felt like sharing it.
The full pictures is very complex and it might take me few more days to complete.
I am planning to draw a girl surrounded by flowers, but in a more surprising setting.
You will see!
In Italian we say  "chi vivra' vedra'!" which in this case means stay tuned and you will see!:)

Have a great Tuesday everybody!
Sunny and absolutely beautiful over here in Ocean Beach. It is painful to stay in and sitting in front of the pc actually :)

Lady Fall.

Lady Fall.
Digital Art.
Illustrator.

This is my last digital work....and funny enough a similar painting was also my very first painting, almost 4 years ago in NYC.

16x20 inches
oil painting

Both images are inspired by my favorite T-shirt, bought ages ago back in Milan. :) Best shopping place ever after NYC :)

This red girl is bringing us the Fall season....unfortunately we skipped the summer over year, in Ocean Beach ! Straight from Spring to Fall this year!

Planning to print this image on a t-shirt in the next few days ... ready to replace the old one !

Good night everyone!

Open for business. Ladies from Scanno, Italy.

Open for business.  Ladies from Scanno, Italy.
Digital Drawing.
Adobe Illustrator.

While Italy is going through a huge economical crisis....grandmothers are coming up with some profitable business ideas ;)

A month ago or so my cousin Ivan back in Italy (amazing photographer by the way!) took some beautiful shots while on holiday.
He was in Scanno, a small lovely town in the central Italy with less than 2.000 people living in.
This one below is one of my favorite pictures. It makes me miss my own grandmothers and it reminds me of my childhood back in Italy.
Grazie Ivan!!

Happy days in Corsica. Oil painting study

Sorry for not posting anything during the past week! I have been working on a complicated illustration, always adding new details.... is taking me longer than expected!
Hopefully I ll be done with it tomorrow! looking forward to share it with you all .

This morning I decided to do something light and happy with my brushes. I have been postponing painting for too long, it was time to go back to it!
While in Corsica last months I took some pictures thinking they would do good painting studies, this one of them.

We were driving from Ajaccio south to Bonifacio, a spectacular drive. We did one coffee stop in Petreto-Bicchisano and this was the view opposite the coffee place. Just beautiful.

1 hour study
oil painting
9x12 inches
Happy days in Corsica 1.

I really enjoyed this quick study today, so relaxing!!! Back to my Illustrator in the late afternoon, now time to take the doggie out :)
Have a great Sunday everyone!!
Enjoy the sunshine :)

Michal and Daria at the coffee place :)

Morning outing..

Morning outing.
Illustrator.

I spent the whole weekend working on this, just finished and loving it!
Down a detail :

It was my first time drawing a figure in a closed environment and I am so glad I did.
Thanks to Daria and to our white kitchen of course :) Sometimes you just need the proper inspiration to get started!
This last illustration is loosely inspired by the photo I took that very first morning of our French holiday.

The digital drawing took me around 8 hours, the drawing on paper around 3 the picture one second!
