An international gang!

I haven't been posting in a while, sorry!!! This week was just crazy busy with the amount of homework for school...but today I squeezed in few hours for my "own painting" and I think this last one is finished.

This painting is available in my ETSY SHOP

This last work was fun, the white rabbit comes from NYC, the British duck from London while the green duck comes from Berlin. But there are more countries to add! The mug comes from Poland, the glass bottle from San Francisco while I bought the flower many years ago at Ikea in Milan.
:)
Such a small world!!!

The Gang, work in progress

This has been a busy week,  assignments for school to do, essays to write and more, no time at all to paint :(
But the weekend is here and hopefully I ll be able to finish this painting 10x20 I started today.
It is another funny still life with some of our plastic ducks and a rabbit toy.
I am really enjoying putting together this set up!

Off to take Miss Mona out for a walk then getting ready for a nice evening by myself,  planning to cook my favorite meal and watch a romantic comedy!!! That's what happened when hubby is not around!;)
Have a good evening everyone!

It's a robbery!

It's a robbery!

This painting was born from a drawing I did a couple of evenings ago. We bought this rabbit almost four years ago in NYC and I don't know why, I have never thought about painting it!
Planning to do some nice sketches with it for future paintings and see what comes up, I love this first one!

A picture of the work in progress, with the real objects in the background.

Lauren Bacall, portrait rough 1

The one I am posting now is part of my homework due for the end of the week .
Starting from a picture in B&W I needed to paint a portrait with complemetary colors.
My choice of complementary color for this first portrait rough were green and red.
First step : desaturate my red by adding white then starting muting the color adding small amount of green and black and more red.

Bacall

Between all the pictures available I fell in love with this one. Lauren Bacall was born in 1924 and still acting.
Today, aged 83, she looks like this, still beautiful, a face of character and wisdom.

Zhouzhuang, China

11x14 inches
The Venice from China
oil on canvas board

As I wrote many time times before we got back from our Asia trip loaded with pictures, and as I said to all the people who asked me which city I liked most my answer was Tokyo.
Still I dont feel like painting Tokyo. Tokyo had a very NYC feeling around it, busy, modern, beautiful, trendy with amazing food. I would live in Tokyo. I would probably not live in Water Town....still, this is place is born to be painted.

Zhouzhuang is a couple of hours drive away from Shanghai . It is one of the most famous water townships in China, noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses and the elegant watery views. It has been called the Venice from the East.
Would love to go back during the cherry blossom season!

The painting is almost finished, I might add few touches tomorrow....feeling lazy now:) time to crush on the sofa and get ready for a full day of homework tomorrow: BORING!!!! :)

Have a good night everyone!
