Ocean beach, ink and water color

What a lazy Sunday ! Plenty of things to do BUT.....feeling like doing just : "nothing" :)
A quick colorful watercolor/ink sketch of Ocean Beach...maybe the idea for a larger painting.
I totally love the colorful houses we have over here, I feel the NEED to paint them .

This is a quick painting I did yesterday afternoon... it is a mix of a couple of pictures I took during the afternoon boat trip in West Lake.

If you were asking me one year ago if I like painting landscape my answer would have be " NOOOO, Boring!!!"

But lately I have  discovered how nice is painting a place you have seen and experienced...totally in love with it now :)
Forgot to mention that also the last exhibition I went to see here in SF " Impressionist on the water" has influenced my latest painting style, I am focusing more on water and reflections.

Going back to school today, time to go back to life painting! feeling so RUSTY !!! If something nice comes up I ll show it tomorrow...;) not so sure though!

Lonely boat....in West Lake, China

Lonely Boat

 I did truly love the place! After the super super polluted and overcrowded Beijing and Shanghai being surrounded by green and water was like living the dream for me!

This small boat was in a tiny lake or pond, all around there were turtles!

CHINA, West Lake

A nice sunny Sunday.....full of mixed feeling... hubby left for Minnesota on business trip, just me and Mona at home and it just not the same :) missing our man here!!
Lately I have been way too busy with my Art Academy online classes and not much time for "my"  painting . As a gift to myself today I gave my self some "free painting time" just a couple of hours...and the day looks already brighter!

We came back from our Asia trip with TONS of pictures...that requires time to be organized...(hopefully I ll get there soon!!)
But before starting working on the pictures album, I really wanted to paint my favorite.
This is the first one.
Two minute after I took this picture I wished I could be home in my studio, able to put it on canvas.
We spent the day in West Lake, a freshwater lake located in the historic area of Hagzhou,  in eastern China. Two hours drive from Shanghai, were we were staying.
A fun day trip with the Wharton friends :)

Glass of water

Summer is finally here :) ...is late I know!! But that's the way it works here in San Francisco :)
After 12 days in super crowded city ( Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo) it feel so nice to be home: ocean, beach and sun.
We had an amazing time and of course (!) we took some very nice pictures! Looking forward to paint some of them
Still busy with cleaning and house work and school homework ( no fun classes this fall semester :( buuuu).

Today's painting is a small commission, on its way to NY State as soon as it is dry.

While in Miami we did one day trip to Everglades, a beautiful natural park one hour drive from  the city.

We went on air boat on " spot the alligator" mission! It was fun!

OK guys! we are leaving for a days trip tomorrow China and Japan, taking my watercolors with me  and my camera of course!

Another beautiful summer day and another painting from our lovely holiday in Key West....life is good!!! :)

25C today a bit windy but otherwise a perfect day... Adele is playing in the background and I am painting another picture from our trip.

Key West, Houses with boat

Another painting from our holiday in Key West.

There is just one road from from Miami to Key West, a really beautiful drive.  The picture that inspired this painting was taken on the way.

....No need to say I would love to live in that white roof house!

Planning to paint some more pictures from the holiday in the next few days.

We are enjoying an amazing weather here in Ocean Beach, is finally summer and is beautiful!!! Sun and ocean put me me in a "painting the ocean" kind of mood. ;)
