Red head girl

Hello everyone and happy Friday!
Already Friday, unbelievable !! Is so true, when you are having fun time flies.....
I wish days were longer, there are always too many things to do!!

Anyway , this is my last girl :
18x24 inches mixed and oil on canvas
All the canvas is worked with paste, and the hair of the girl is done with a sandy effect, lovely to the touch!
The color are vibrant and shiny, she is definitely a summer girl!
Hope you like it!!
Have a nice weekend!

Back to my beloved head drawing class!

Back to class....after almost one month break !! It felt so good to be back at drawing real model...I think is my favourite activity ( after swimming and running of course!!).
Today's model was an Indian lady, I started with the profile from the light side, I am very happy with the final result! I spent on this drawing only 40 min.
Where I had a struggle instead is the dark profile side.
The first row sitting downwas already taken so I had to seat in the very back...and well.. I couldn't really see much!! It was easier to copy from the lady drawing in front of me than looking at the model!
Still..i did my best and I didn't' copy!
Here is my view, or my non-view :)

final drawing:

All in all today was a beautiful day! Went running before class and went for a swim after class....feeling a bit of a sport freak sometimes but I am addicted to it!
As much as I am addicted to my husband and my dog!!! :)
Painting in the garden for a couple of hours now, enjoy the rest of your day!

Blue cat

Monday evening....
Monday has never been my favourite day of the week ( not when I had an office job and not now that I am "working " from home)...I just dislike Monday.
And I am happy to announce that is almost finished!!
It was a pretty busy one, I didnt even had much time for painting, busy with vet for Mona, dentist for me, foo shopping and other stuff.
The nicest moment of the day was probably my swimming break in the afternoon...that was really awesome actually!!
The painting of today is a Blue Cat, 24x18 inches done with a mixed media tecnique.
As you can see the canvas is all worked with paste, so it will be fun to touch once is dried!
Off to the park for a doggie walk now :)
ciao!!!

Green CAT!

Hello hello hello!!

Today' s painting is a relaxing funny one.
Yesterday my 9hours jet lag finally kicked in ... I felt tired all day and I dragged my self around...looking forward to spend the evening lazy on the sofa!!

This painting was planned well in advance since the drying time between the modelling paste  and the different color layers take FOR EVER!!!

Early wake up today, the sun is shining and is a beautiful morning.
Just back from a nice run ready to start the day!!
Happy Saturday guys!

1942

Happy Friday guys!
Days are getting shorter and cooler but the sun is always here, ALWAYS :) amazing!
Mona is relaxing after our morning run and I am planning my next painting...life is not too bad!! ( thanks to my lovely husband!)

When I was in Italy I draw my grandmother.
Once I was done with my drawing I showed it her asking for feedback.
No excitement coming from her ....she liked it just because it really looked like her...but she doesnt like to see herself old, getting old sucks ! Her own words ( in Italian of course!)
So I asked her to show me some pictures of when she was young..and oh my god! she was absolutely stunning!!!
She didnt have many, since they didnt have much money to spend on fancy photography session, but she had a beautiful one from 1942. She was 18 years old then.
At that time the second world was in full swing in our area,  it was the right moment to take a picture...who knows what will happen the next day.

Here is the picture :
And now some picture of the work in progress.

First I do the drawing on an empty canvas 12x12"
then I choose the color, a green-gray tone...
Then I start with eyes and mouth...

Here is final work, my grandmother Lucia in 1942 , when she was 18 years old.
I am planning to send it to her as soon as it is fully dried , a perfect birthday present , she will be 88 years old October 17th.

Love ballons

24x18 " mixed media

Hello everyone!
A beautiful day here in Menlo Park, started with a super hilly run with Mona.
I was missing running here :)

Today s painting was an experiment, but I am so happy with the result that I will do more !
I love the stick out effect of hearts, the string of the balloon is done with real string attached with glue. On top is painted with oil color.
On the back ground you can also read different words.
I hope you like it!
Going for a walk with Miss Mona now.
ciaooo!!!

Nonna Lucia

Hello everyone, I am back!
Back to running hill, back to cleaning, back to cooking and back to painting!!
I had an amazing time in Europe, first London, than Milan, than Faenza, my home town. I loved and enjoyed every second of it.
When home I draw my grand mother , "nonna" in Italian.
She gave me also a picture of when she was young, that will be my next portrait :)
Nonna Lucia is my dad' mom....I wish I could see her more often than once or twice per year
( I wish California was closer too Italy!!!)
..she is fantastic, she always has a right advice for me...a very wise woman:)

Being in Love

Hello everyone!
I hope you had a nice long weekend, WE DID! :)
As ur wedding anniversary present we went Coronado, an island very close to San Diego, and we had 3 amazing relaxing days.
Mona will need a full week of sleeping on her bean bag to recover!! Too much running and too much swimming in the ocean!

I am off to Europe Thursday for 10 days. Looking forward to see my family and friends!!!
Pencil and paper will come with me , and I would love to draw my mom and my grand ma, let' s see...

Today's painting is 6x6 inches.
I have been working on this for more than a week, the drying times between the layers is a pain!!
The hearts are tridimensional,  done with different layers of acrylic finally oil on top in 3 different layers.
The final effect is beautiful! to me at least :)

This Is dedicated to my husband:

kocham cię
uwielbiam cię
jesteś całym moim światem
jesteś moją drugą połówką
jesteś miłością mojego życia
